You don’t have to be at rock bottom to need support — and you don’t have to walk this alone.

Recovery Well connects people navigating addiction, isolation, or major life transitions with peer coaches who’ve lived it. Not therapy. Not treatment. A trained, lived-experience guide in your corner when structure and connection are what’s missing.

The Gap We Fill

Formal treatment exists for crisis. Willpower alone rarely holds for long.

Between those two lies most people’s actual experience: functioning, but struggling. Not “bad enough” for a waitlisted program, not able to white-knuckle it forever. Private residential treatment runs $12,500–$30,000 a month — built for acute need, priced for a narrow buyer. The public system is free, but crisis-oriented and gated by eligibility.

Recovery Well serves the space between: structured, affordable, one-on-one support from someone who has actually lived what you’re living. Not a hotline. Not a support group. A coach.

Built By Someone Who Has Lived It

Recovery Well isn’t a company you’ll be handed off through — it’s built and run by me, David Bennington. I’ve spent nearly two decades in Central Alberta’s recovery community, and I’m in long-term recovery myself. I built Recovery Well because I know firsthand what it’s like to need more than a hotline but not qualify for a treatment bed — and I know how much difference one person who’s actually been there can make.

How It Works

  1. Tell us what you’re facing — a short intro call, no obligation.
  2. Get matched by the shape of the struggle — addiction, divorce, reentry, a family member’s gaming addiction, or rebuilding a life after it fell apart.
  3. Work with your coach — structured sessions, real accountability, a program built for your situation.

Who We Work With

Substance & Behavioral Recovery — Overcoming the cyclical chains of drugs, alcohol, or compulsive behaviors.

Digital & Gaming Addiction — Reclaiming real-world connection from digital isolation.

Divorce & Identity Transition — Rebuilding your personal architecture after a major structural collapse.

Common Questions

How much does recovery coaching cost? Sessions range from $50 for a 30-minute intro call to $150 for a 90-minute planning session — roughly $100/hour. 12-week programs also available.

Is this the same as therapy? No — structured peer support from lived experience, not clinical treatment.

Do I need to be in crisis to reach out? No. Most people we work with are functioning but stuck. If you are in crisis please contact your local health authority.
